Privacy Policy

We believe privacy is a right, not a checkbox. Here's exactly what we collect, why, and how we protect it.

Overview

Nova Soft Labs ("we," "our," or "us") operates a suite of remote control and device management applications for Android, including but not limited to Samsung Remote, LG Remote, Chromecast Remote, Roku Remote, Fire TV Remote, and any other current or future apps we publish on Google Play. This Privacy Policy explains how we handle information when you use any of our apps.

Our apps are designed as remote control utilities. We are committed to being transparent about how data is collected and used — including by third-party services such as advertising and analytics providers integrated into our apps.

📱 This policy applies universally across all current and future Nova Soft Labs apps available on Google Play and other platforms — regardless of which specific remote control app you are using.

Information We Collect

We collect only what is necessary to make the app function. We do not require account registration or collect personal identifying information to use our apps.

Automatically collected (non-personal):

  • Device type, operating system version, and app version (for crash diagnostics)
  • Anonymous usage statistics (e.g. feature usage frequency, session duration)
  • Crash logs and error reports to improve stability

Network & local device data:

  • Local network information (IP addresses on your home/local network) used solely to discover and connect to your TV or device — never transmitted to our servers
  • Device names visible on your local network, used only within the app session

Collected by third-party SDKs (advertising & analytics):

  • Advertising ID (Google Advertising ID / GAID) — collected by Google AdMob for ad serving
  • Device information (model, OS version, screen size) — used by AdMob for ad targeting
  • App interaction data (ad impressions, clicks) — collected by AdMob
  • Approximate location (derived from IP address) — may be used by AdMob for geo-targeted ads

We do NOT collect:

  • Your name, email, phone number, or any account information
  • Precise location data (GPS)
  • Contacts, photos, messages, or any unrelated device content
  • Browsing history or cross-app activity (beyond what AdMob collects for ad personalization)
  • Payment information (purchases are handled entirely by Google Play)

How We Use Information

Any data collected by us is used exclusively for:

  • Enabling core app functionality (device discovery, remote control operation)
  • Diagnosing crashes and fixing bugs to improve app stability
  • Understanding which features are most useful to improve future versions
  • Displaying advertisements through Google AdMob to support free app features
  • Complying with legal obligations

Data collected by third-party SDKs (such as Google AdMob) is used by those providers in accordance with their own privacy policies, which may include ad personalization and cross-app tracking.

Advertising (Google AdMob)

Our apps display advertisements provided by Google AdMob, a third-party advertising service operated by Google LLC. AdMob helps us keep our apps free by showing relevant ads to users.

What AdMob collects:

  • Google Advertising ID (GAID) — a resettable device identifier used for ad targeting
  • Device information (model, OS version, language, time zone)
  • Ad interaction data (impressions, clicks, and view time)
  • Approximate location based on IP address (for geo-targeted ads)
  • App usage context (to serve relevant ads)

Personalized Ads: By default, AdMob may serve personalized advertisements based on your interests and past interactions across apps and websites. This is done using the Google Advertising ID on your device.

🔧 Opt-Out of Personalized Ads: You can reset or delete your Google Advertising ID at any time by going to Settings → Google → Ads on your Android device. Selecting "Delete advertising ID" will prevent all apps on your device from using it for personalized advertising.

AdMob's data collection and use is governed by Google's Privacy Policy. We encourage you to review it at policies.google.com/privacy.

For more information on how Google uses data from apps that use AdMob, visit: policies.google.com/technologies/partner-sites.

In-App Purchases

Some of our apps offer in-app purchases or premium features that can be unlocked through a one-time purchase or subscription. All transactions are processed securely by Google Play.

What this means for your data:

  • We do not collect, store, or have access to your payment card details or billing information — this is handled entirely by Google Play
  • Google Play may share a purchase confirmation with us (e.g. whether a purchase was completed) solely to unlock the relevant premium feature in the app
  • Purchase history is managed through your Google Play account

Free Trials: Some subscriptions may include a free trial period (for example, 3 days). Free trials automatically convert to a paid subscription at the end of the trial period unless you cancel at least 24 hours before the trial ends. You will not be charged during the trial period.

Subscriptions: If you purchase a subscription, it will automatically renew unless cancelled at least 24 hours before the end of the current billing period. You can manage or cancel subscriptions at any time through your Google Play account settings.

Refunds: Refund requests are handled in accordance with Google Play's refund policy. You may also contact us at support@novasoftlabs.com for assistance.

💳 Nova Soft Labs never sees or stores your payment information. All billing is managed securely by Google Play.

Sharing & Disclosure

We do not sell, rent, or trade your personal data with third parties for their own commercial purposes.

We may share limited data only in these circumstances:

  • Advertising partners: Google AdMob receives device and usage data as described in the Advertising section above, for the purpose of serving ads in our apps
  • Service providers: Trusted tools like Firebase (Google) for crash analytics, used under strict data processing agreements
  • Legal requirements: If required by law, court order, or to protect the rights and safety of our users or the public
  • Business transfer: In the unlikely event of a merger or acquisition, user data would be disclosed as part of that transaction with the same privacy commitments

Data Storage & Security

App preferences and settings are stored locally on your device. Any analytics data transmitted to our service providers is encrypted in transit (TLS) and at rest.

Local network data (such as your TV's IP address) is stored only on-device and is never uploaded to any server.

🔒 No sensitive personal data is transmitted to or stored on Nova Soft Labs servers. Data collected by third-party services (AdMob, Firebase) is stored on their respective infrastructure under their own security standards.
09 —

Data Retention

Crash and analytics data retained by third-party services is typically held for 90 days before automatic deletion. Local app data (settings, paired devices) remains on your device until you uninstall the app or clear its data.

Data retained by Google AdMob and Google Play is subject to Google's own data retention policies, which you can review at policies.google.com/privacy.

Children's Privacy

Our apps are general-purpose remote control utilities intended for users aged 13 and above. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13 (or the applicable age of digital consent in your region).

Because our apps use Google AdMob for advertising, which may serve personalized ads, our apps are not directed at or intended for children under 13. This is reflected in our Google Play Console target audience settings.

If you are a parent or guardian and believe your child under 13 has used our app, please contact us immediately at support@novasoftlabs.com and we will take prompt action, including deletion of any associated data.

⚠️ Our apps are rated for users 13 and older. If you are under 13, please do not use our apps or provide any information to us.

  • Include the app name and your device's approximate region so we can identify and remove relevant data
  • We will process your request and confirm deletion within 30 days

Please note that data held by third-party services (Google AdMob, Firebase) must be requested directly from Google. You can manage Google's data about you at myaccount.google.com/data-and-privacy.

Policy Changes

We may update this policy as we launch new apps or features. When we do, we'll update the "Last updated" date at the top of this page. For significant changes, we'll notify users via an in-app notice.
