Network Analyzer provides speed tests, LAN/device scans, ping, DNS lookups, traceroute, Wi-Fi details, and local history/export. Diagnostic results are stored locally on your device; Nova Soft does not run an account or cloud-sync service for those results. Tests communicate with the networks and endpoints you choose. The app also uses Google AdMob, which can process device, usage, and advertising information as described below.
Who this policy covers
This Privacy Policy applies to the Network Analyzer mobile app published by Nova Soft ("we," "us," or "our"). It describes the app's diagnostic features and its use of Google AdMob. It does not cover the separate NovaSoft website or third-party sites and services that you may visit.
Some network information, including IP addresses, device names, and Wi-Fi identifiers, can be personal data in context. We treat it accordingly.
Information the app accesses
Connection and Wi-Fi details
The app may read the device's current connection information, including local and public IP addresses, network name (SSID), access point identifier (BSSID), gateway, DNS servers, signal information, and related network settings, where available from your device and permitted by its operating system.
LAN and diagnostic results
When you use a tool, the app may process addresses and names of devices found on your local network; ping latency and reachability; DNS responses; traceroute hops; and speed-test results such as download speed, upload speed, and latency.
Saved history and exports
The app stores diagnostic history on your device so you can review it. If you export results, the exported file or text is handled by the destination you choose, such as your device's share sheet, files app, or another app.
Network Analyzer does not require an account. Nova Soft does not receive or store your scan results or diagnostic history on its servers. Operating-system permissions may be needed to show Wi-Fi information or use network features; the permission prompt on your device controls that access.
How the information is used
- To display your current network and Wi-Fi details.
- To run the speed test, LAN/device scan, ping, DNS, and traceroute tools you select.
- To keep history locally and create exports when you ask for them.
- To serve, measure, and protect advertising through Google AdMob.
We do not use your locally stored diagnostic history to build an advertising profile.
What happens when you run a test
Network tests work by sending requests or packets. A LAN scan communicates with devices on the network you scan. Ping, DNS, and traceroute communicate with the destination or resolver used by the test. A speed test communicates with its test endpoint and transfers data to measure performance. Those destinations and the networks carrying the traffic may see information normally included in network communication, such as your public IP address, request time, queried domain, or target address.
Network Analyzer does not control the privacy practices of a destination you choose, your internet provider, your DNS resolver, or the speed-test endpoint. Do not export or share a result containing information you wish to keep private.
Advertising and Google AdMob
The app uses Google AdMob to display ads. Google's Mobile Ads SDK may automatically collect or receive your IP address (which can indicate approximate location), app interactions and ad activity, diagnostic and performance information, and device or advertising identifiers where available. Google may use this information to deliver and measure ads, provide analytics for ads, and prevent fraud. This AdMob processing is separate from the local diagnostic history described above.
Google may use advertising information to personalize ads where permitted. You can manage ad personalization through your device's advertising settings and Google's controls. Network Analyzer does not currently provide an in-app ad-consent form or a screen for reopening ad privacy choices. We will update this policy when those controls are added.
See Google's Privacy Policy and My Ad Center for Google's practices and ad controls.
Retention and deletion
Diagnostic history is kept on your device until you remove it using any available in-app history controls or uninstall the app. Exported copies are under the control of the destination where you saved or shared them; deleting app history does not delete those copies. We cannot delete information retained by a network destination or your internet provider as a result of a test.
Nova Soft has no account or cloud copy of your diagnostic history to delete. Google determines retention of data processed through AdMob under its own policies and controls. You can use Google's privacy controls or contact us at hello@novasoft.io with a privacy request; we will respond as applicable to data we control.
Your privacy choices
- You can decide whether to run a diagnostic test or export a result.
- You can manage app permissions, including Wi-Fi or location-related access where required by your operating system, in your device settings. Denying a permission may limit a related feature.
- You can remove locally stored app data using available history controls or by uninstalling the app.
- You can manage advertising preferences through your device settings, Apple's tracking setting on iOS, and Google's ad controls. At present, the app has no in-app screen for changing ad consent.
For questions about access, consent, or deletion, email hello@novasoft.io.
Security
Diagnostic history is stored locally using the protections of your device and operating system. No method of storage or network transmission is completely secure. Some diagnostic tools use ordinary network protocols that are not encrypted by design, and devices or operators on the tested network may observe their traffic. Use these tools only on networks where you are authorized to do so.
Changes and contact
We may update this policy when the app, its advertising setup, or legal requirements change. The effective date at the top shows when this version took effect. Material changes will be communicated through the app or this page where appropriate.
For privacy questions or requests, contact Nova Soft at hello@novasoft.io.
